In today’s workforce, one of the most powerful leadership skills we can have is the ability to form authentic relationships with teams and clients. Having authentic relationships enables us to develop an effective support system, work with resistance, and establish deep relationships.

This course offers the opportunity to explore the skills and behaviors needed to build authentic relationships. Participants will learn to analyze their relationships and develop a practical approach for engaging team members.

Defining Authentic Relationships

In this session, we will define authentic relationships and understand the reasons why they are essential to success in leadership. Participants will have an opportunity to evaluate the last five interactions they had with others to discover more about their relationships. They will also explore the concept of Emotional Bank Accounts by Stephen Covey, recognize the 3 Ps of building authentic relationships, and explore the power of vulnerability.

Behaviors That Enhance Authentic Relationships

Inspirational leaders make a strong impression on others by believing in themselves and others. In this session, participants will explore the behaviors that charismatic leaders exhibit to enhance authentic relationships including warmth, body language, listening and empathy.

In this session, participants will explore the common behaviors that prevent us from building authentic relationships and discover ways we can monitor our own behavior to ensure that we have successful relationships.
