The Mentoring Mindset

Everyone from the newest employee to the CEO can benefit from having a mentor. This course offers a collection of skills and strategies to help build a mentoring mindset as a mentor or mentee for the purpose of personal and professional development. Participants will learn to create a positive mentoring relationship and understand the expectations of their mentor or mentee.

Introduction to the Mentoring Relationship

August 10, 2021
In this session, we will promote an understanding of the mentoring relationship and how it is different from a boss - employee relationship. We will distinguish the responsibilities of both the mentor and the mentee and discuss the value of the mentoring mindset.

Responsibilities of the Mentee

August 17, 2021
In this session, we will recognize our responsibilities as a mentee in the mentoring relationship. We will learn how to receive feedback openly and discover ways to protect and contribute to the relationship. We will explore how to bring the mentoring relationship to a close at the proper time.

How to Be a Good Mentor

August 24, 2021
An effective mentor provides guidance through coaching techniques, rather than direct instruction. In this session, participants will learn how to implement mentoring strategies such as coaching and constructive criticism to help develop their mentees.
