As dynamics in the workforce continue to change, it is an increasing reality that employees no longer stay with the same organization for decades, but rather move from company to company chasing better opportunities and increased job satisfaction. Therefore, it is important for companies to be aware of the needs of their top-performing individuals and find ways to continue to challenge them. It is also important to establish a succession plan to replace employees if they leave the organization.

This course will give you the tools to regain positive momentum after a key employee leaves the organization and show you how to create a pipeline of new talent and potential leadership. As a result, you will be able to guide development activities of key employees and bring selection systems, reward systems, and management development into alignment with the process of leadership renewal. You will also learn how to avoid major transition setbacks.

Learning Path

In this session, we will examine Succession Planning and its importance and benefits. We will also understand the old and new principles of succession planning and explore three models for succession planning that are based on top-performing companies.

Virtual Session (30 minutes) + Online Journal (15 minutes) + Activity (15 minutes)

This session explores the six steps of ideal leadership coaching. We will identify the purpose and structure of an employee development plan and recognize the action learning cycle.

In this session, we will define and explore three general categories of competency identification. We will discover how to use the gap analysis tool to chart an employee’s strengths and weaknesses. We will complete a 360-degree assessment of an employee’s individual performance and abilities as well as identify how to pinpoint and develop potential leaders.
