In today’s corporate world, the art of influence is the language of leadership. It is a powerful tool that builds trust, establishes credibility, and connects you as a leader to your team. Influence even helps in situations where you can’t practice your formal authority.

In this course, you will discover skills, strategies, and behaviors that influence others without using direct power. We will explore how to demonstrate authenticity and integrity through interactions with others and how to have a strong sense of self-awareness. You will then learn how these techniques lead to improved working relationships and increased opportunities to see your ideas grow.

Learning Path

In this session, we will define and explore influence, why it matters, and what impact it can have on others. We will also examine how influence is different from controlling and manipulating behavior, identify the skills and techniques of building rapport, and discover ways to improve understanding.

Virtual Session (30 minutes) + Online Journal (15 minutes) + Activity (15 minutes)

To learn the art of influence, we need to develop a series of learnable skills such as conflict resolution, empathy, being proactive, using neutral language, and assessing. In this session, we will identify and explore, in detail, both influence building and influence destroying behaviors. We will also discover how to implement techniques to avoid influence destroying behaviors.

Virtual Session (30 minutes) + Online Journal (15 minutes) + Activity (15 minutes)

This session examines how we influence others when we act in a versatile or adaptable way. We will identify the different social styles and learn how to adjust our approach to meet the preferred style of others.
