In this session, we will promote an understanding of the mentoring relationship and how it is different from a boss – employee relationship. We will distinguish the responsibilities of both the mentor and the mentee and discuss the value of the mentoring mindset.

In this session, we will recognize our responsibilities as a mentee in the mentoring relationship. We will learn how to receive feedback openly and discover ways to protect and contribute to the relationship. We will explore how to bring the mentoring relationship to a close at the proper time.

An effective mentor provides guidance through coaching techniques, rather than direct instruction. In this session, participants will learn how to implement mentoring strategies such as coaching and constructive criticism to help develop their mentees.
