An attitude of service. First, it’s the willingness to put the needs of others before the needs of yourself. And if we’re in a service position, that’s key. Putting the needs of our customers or clients before our own. Carrying service throughout the day and in each encounter. So service isn’t something that you turn off and on. It is every time that you encounter somebody who you’re servicing internally or externally.
You’ve got to want to help others be successful. And the best way that I’ve learned to do that is to understand that your success hinges on theirs. And then see other team members as internal customers. Everybody that we work with, that we come in contact with during our workday, really we should consider a customer. And that will help you carry this service attitude or this attitude of service forward. And it won’t become a chore anymore, or something that you have to turn on, because you’re treating everybody that way all day long.
