As a leader, it’s important to know how to use assertiveness skills for effective communication. These skills enable you to interact more effectively with your team, clients, and anyone else you interact with throughout your day. In this course, you will explore how assertiveness skills empower you to communicate more confidently and efficiently. Participants will gain insight into areas where assertiveness is necessary and utilize new techniques and methods which will have a long-lasting impact on their professional and personal life.
The concept of being assertive is entirely different to being aggressive. Many of us find it difficult to be assertive because we often prefer to avoid conflict.
In this session, participants will be discussing the difference between passive, assertive and aggressive behavior. We will examine hot buttons or triggers that lead to aggressive behavior and complete the Assertiveness Assessment to find the right mix between confidence and consideration.

In this session, participants will examine the Albert Mehrabian Communication Model to understand how we communicate, discuss the three Cs of verbal communication, and learn how positive intent is helpful in being assertive.

In this session, we will examine how active listening is significant for assertiveness. Participants will also define ways to listen effectively as well as complete a listening self-assessment.
