Course Overview

In the challenging corporate world, conflicts are common and frequent. These conflicts, such as differences of opinion, not living up to expectations, denial, and lack of cooperation can lead to serious consequences for a leader. This course is designed to help leaders understand their role in conflict situations, and how to adapt to the situation to achieve better outcomes. Participants will learn conflict management skills including practical communication techniques, effective listening skills and approaches to avoid escalating problems.

Completing this course will help you:

  • Define key principles associated with conflict management.
  • Identify the two types of conflict and psychological safety methods that can help respond effectively to challenging people.
  • Utilize effective power listening skills to minimize conflict and assist others to communicate productively.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for team leaders looking to feel more confident in discussing issues and problems with their team. Participants will acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to efficiently conquer conflict situations in the workplace, in a clear, assertive and constructive way.

Learning Path

In this session, we will define the key principles around conflict management, identify the relationship between the chain of dialogue and conflict, and closely examine a guide to styles of handling conflict.

Virtual Session (30 minutes) + Online Journal (15 minutes) + Activity (15 minutes)

Leaders feel more empowered when they can handle difficult conversations and conflict situations. They are able to tackle conflicts at an early stage if they are familiar with conflict management concepts. In this session, participants will recognize and understand the two types of conflicts, the psychological safety principle, and effective communication methods that help teams to have productive dialogues.
