Conflict can be an obstacle to organizational success and personal job satisfaction. When two or more people work together, conflict is almost inevitable. By the end of this course, you will be able to create a positive working environment in which conflict is dealt with collaboratively.
In this session, we will identify where conflict originates, discover your preferred strategy for handling conflict, explore the chain of dialogue, and examine the characteristics and drawbacks of each typical approach to conflict.

Conflict resolution training teaches leaders to handle workplace disputes constructively and prevent unnecessary conflict before it starts. Leadership Edge Live delivers it as a four-week live virtual course built around the Blake and Mouton model of five conflict styles and the chain of dialogue, so managers resolve tension in a way that protects relationships rather than leaving winners and losers.
The five conflict styles come from the Blake and Mouton model, which maps how people handle conflict based on their concern for results versus their concern for relationships. This course has participants identify their own default style and its drawbacks, then learn when each of the five is the right approach, so they stop defaulting to the same reaction in every dispute.
You prevent conflict by recognizing its common sources early and building the behaviors that lower tension before disagreements escalate. A full session of this course focuses on prevention, so managers leave able to spot the conditions that breed conflict, such as unclear roles or poor communication, and address them proactively rather than firefighting later.
Conflict resolution is about working through a specific dispute to a fair outcome, while conflict management is the broader, ongoing work of building a low-conflict team culture. This course covers both, resolving conflicts by their source and preventing them going forward, which suits leaders who want to reduce the frequency of conflict, not just settle the current one.
This is a live virtual course delivered over four weekly sessions, built for leaders and managers who want a lower-conflict, higher-collaboration team. Because it is facilitator-led rather than self-paced video, participants work through the five styles and real conflict sources in discussion, and a team can start with a free trial session.
