Course Overview

Keeping employees motivated and challenged can be a complex task. Over the years, many leaders have relied on the carrot and stick motivation model (i.e. carrot is a reward for good behavior and stick is a consequence for poor behavior.) However, when your goal as a leader becomes compliance, chances are the leader will be the only one motivated in the team. This makes it critical for leaders to understand the needs of their employees and find other methods to motivate them.

This course will teach participants how to tailor their leadership and communication styles to suit the needs of the team. This will create a shared vision for the organization, build group identity, create a culture of ownership, and establish a more collaborative, inspiring work environment.

Completing this course will help you:

  • Define the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation models and stages of motivation.
  • Determine the goals and reward system that is necessary to enhance motivation.
  • Identify major factors that affect motivation.
