Leaders are responsible for developing others. On-the-spot development conversations are a necessary tool for the personal and professional development of your team members. In this course, you will understand the difference between a development conversation and a performance conversation. You will also learn how to conduct an effective development conversation and avoid the pitfalls.
In this session, we will define the purpose of and differentiate between development and performance conversations. Participants will identify how development conversations can sometimes turn into a performance conversation, and the effects of it to both the employee and the leader.
